November 30, 2015-8:30 pm – Davidson College Campus Summit

Join the ladies of the Women’s Leadership Conference Planning Committee in a movie screening of The Life and Times of Rosie the Riveter, at 8:30, November 30, at Campus Summit. Below is a quick synopsis. We hope to see everyone there!

Five women, who worked in the shipyards and defense plants during World War II, who recount their experiences at work and offer comments on society’s expectations of them during the war effort and after the war. Their narratives are interspersed with sequences from war department films, newsreels, and Hollywood movies made during that time which concerned women working outside the home.
