Our Mission:
The Mission of the Women’s Leadership Conference at Davidson College is to encourage relationships between students and community members by connecting them as conference participants. The framework of our conference supports authentic, inter-generational connections and provides a space to discuss poignant women’s issues.
Our History:
In 2008, a group of dedicated Davidson students identified the need for an outlet for women of all ages and backgrounds to share and learn leadership skills with one another. Out of this notion grew the Davidson College Women’s Leadership Conference. With the support and guidance of the Chidsey Center, a student planning committee spends each year developing themes, finding speakers, raising funds, and organizing for the annual conference.
The conference hosts 120 women in or related to the Davidson area. Engaging speakers, interactive workshops, and poignant discussions allow participants to consider what it means to be a modern woman. Students and community members are paired with one another to foster new relationships and to enrich their conference experience. We believe the conference gives women the opportunity to connect, share experiences, and enhance their leadership skills.
We hope that you will be able to join us at this year’s conference!
